Cardi B slams those attributing ‘Invasion of Privacy’s’ success to Payola


ardi B has fired back at an Instagram user who claimed she didn’t deserve her recent record breaking acheivement.

This comes hours after celebrating her 26th birthday .

took to Instagram to announce that her first album,Invasion of Privacy is the first female album to have the most certifications.

Twelve of her thirteen tracks all went Platinum or gold .

Bodak Yellow is 6x Platinum.

however, the Instagram user felt she doesn’t deserve it , attributing the album’s sucess to Payola..A fraudulent system of record labels buying their own artist’s songs or paying for airplay.

This is not an accomplishment when your label pays to have your song played in 15 minute intervals on every radio station and purchases copies themselves. Y’all remember when Sony purchased a million copies of Anti before it was released?

Cardi fired back listing some songs which were not even promoted on radio

This won’t be the first time the rapper’s record label is being accused of using Payola to push her album sales .

Nicki Minaj has also claimed ’s achievement is thanks to Payola.
