Extortion malware hit porn sites

Cybercriminals in many parts on the planet are in a bid to extort money from a section of Internet users whom they claimed to have caught on camera indulging in sexual crimes.

The targetted ones keep receiving emails asking for ransom to stop the misdeeds from going viral in the own network.

The criminals behind the scam boast of acquiring the emails and password details of an user citing a malicious malware in place to charge the user with browsing through the porn sites to be recorded on webcam.

The recipients are allowed to know that these materials helped them make a video clip that would spell disaster in the social life if allowed to go viral.

Those who don’t have the habit have nothing to fear since never they have caught a glimpse of the porn sites even if in their possession. But the problem persists with some others who keep visiting the porn sites to be targetted by the gang of cybercriminals who resort to this intimidation tactic to extort money to be spared.

They keep telling the recipients that the video piece is ready to be released to all the contacts, friends and the family members unmindful of its impact and consequences.

Then they are quick to give hint of a tip for an immediate relief with financial ransom to skip the move to ensure that the victim remain safe.

What a cybercriminal claim might be true since he or she might possessed the recipient's email, password details and contacts from data breaches.

That’s the entire game, beyond doubt, a scammer keeps playing to extract benefit thereof. The next step begins with bargaining. The criminal or criminals talk of an amount required to stop the vicious video from going viral among the contacts—friends and family members.

An account no is also sent along with an email address to credit the demanded amount for the purpose which gives the wrong doer users some sort of respite albeit very little users are believed to have been trapped so far.

A team of cyber security experts claimed to have uncovered that the criminals keep desperately looking for leaked email account details, passwords, contact addresses from data breaches which sometimes an user victim has to admit before landing in the trap. But there is no malware or webcam is use to spot an user who keep browsing any website as he or she wants.

The researchers say the only way to escape these cyber criminals would be to change the passwords at regular intervals. This would only, they say, ensure that the same is beyond the reach of these elements in question.
